NHL odds today — moneyline, puck line and totals

10 NHL games drop the puck in the next 48 hours; the moneyline or total has moved on 9 of them since we first recorded the market. Each row shows the current moneyline (decimal and American), the puck line with both prices, the total with the over and under price, and the move since our first snapshot of that market. Prices are sampled every 5 minutes from a sharp global market and the page rebuilds about every 15 minutes. Times are US Eastern.

2 of 10 games have a favourite at 1.50 (-200) or shorter; totals on the board: 5.5 / 6 / 6.5. "pp" is the change in the no-vig win probability (margin removed) since the first snapshot, so a 2.0 pp move on a 55% favourite means the market now makes it 57%. How to read the NHL odds on this board

Three numbers answer three different questions. The moneyline asks who wins the game, overtime and shootout included; 1.67 (-150) implies 1 ÷ 1.67 = 60% before the margin is removed. The puck line asks whether the favourite wins by two or more goals — the line is nearly always 1.5, so the information is in the price next to it, not in the number. The total asks whether both teams together score more or fewer goals than the line, usually 5.5, 6 or 6.5, with every overtime and shootout goal counted. A market labelled regulation time or 60 minutes is a fourth, separate question that treats a tie after 60 minutes as its own outcome.

The worked example — one real 2026-27 board read market by market, plus a line that moved before puck drop — is in how to read NHL odds. To turn any price on this page into a probability or a payout, use the odds calculator.

Puck line cells read "home line and price / away line and price"; a line that changes sign (-1.5 → +1.5) means the market switched favourites. A move is a fact about the market, not a forecast — a 4-point move does not turn a 56% favourite into a certainty. NHL odds FAQ

What do NHL moneyline odds mean?

The moneyline is the price on a team to win the game, overtime and shootout included. A negative American price such as -150 (decimal 1.67) marks the favourite; a positive price such as +130 (2.30) marks the underdog. Divide 1 by the decimal odds to get the implied probability: 1.67 implies about 60%, 2.30 about 43%. The two sides add up to more than 100% because the margin is built into the prices.

What is the NHL puck line?

The puck line is hockey's point spread, almost always 1.5 goals. The favourite at -1.5 has to win by two or more; the underdog at +1.5 wins the bet by winning outright or losing by one goal. Because the number rarely changes, the market moves the price instead: a heavy favourite's -1.5 sits near even money, a coin-flip game puts -1.5 at 3.00 or longer.

How is the NHL total settled?

The total (over/under) counts every goal scored by both teams, overtime and shootout included; in a shootout the winner is credited with one goal. Lines are usually 5.5, 6 or 6.5. On a whole-number line such as 6, exactly six goals is a push and the stake is returned.

Are these NHL picks?

No. This page is the odds board and the line moves, rebuilt from our 5-minute snapshots. Picks are issued separately only when one of our logics fires on a game, and every one of them is graded on the public record.
